How to Write. Whatever

We call this chapter "How to write. Whatever."

From this hub page, there will be approaches to writing sentences, fiction pieces, non-fiction (technical, op-ed, how-tos), poetry of specific types, outlines, queries, metaphors, similes, representative academic writing for students, and perhaps some things we haven't yet considered. We're open to suggestions.

The Monday Morning Writers Group has dozens of accomplished writers who do various types of writing. Fiction, non-fiction, humor, touching pieces about life - you name it, whatever it is, someone does it in this group. It is the "sounding board" of the weekly writing group meeting that keeps us producing. Join us if you are in the Cincinnati area. If you don't have a writers' group nearby, we welcome you to become a "virtual" part of ours.

How to write:

If you are a writer, you are here because you were researching a term, searching for a model, checking out the competition, or - maybe - because you needed a respite from your labor. We understand you. We are you.

*Tip

For an excellent disquisition on sentence structure, check out Brooks Landon.

Landon is Professor of English and Collegiate Fellow at the University of Iowa and Director of the university's General Education Literature Program. His Teaching Company course is an excellent resource.

The University of Iowa is synonymous with famous modern authors. If you have a chance to go to a workshop, you won't regret it.

Please don't limit yourself to writing books or articles, written material comes in many guises. You might even consider writing and producing funny animations.

For non-fiction and technical writing, you will be doing interviews. Are you prepared?
