Twitters About Tweeting

Are poems that are twitters the new poetic form? Could be. They are more properly called #twitpoems.

I'm thinking, therefore, I must be
Descartes declared emphatically
I wonder what he's thinking now?
Schrödinger's cat replies, "Meow."

Make sure your tweets
Do not ring hollow.
Take some care
With whom you follow.

Do you watch your tweeting score?
If you want your score to soar
Streams of happiness outpour
Aren't Pollyannas such a bore?

A tweet should be informative
With news or tips that help us live.
Or possibly, just bring a smile
When words are used with compact style.

The challenge is to say it all in only 140 characters, otherwise, the poem won't fit and will be cut off. Try it!

Watch your tweeting ratio
That number isn't meant to grow
Disproportional, and so
Cultivate those "in the know."

#Twitpoems are the best there is
I'm wondering if someone is
Producing verses sharp and short
That group is surely my cohort.

And sometimes tweets become political when a thread is "trending." This can go beyond mere fun or social networking because oftentimes the people in the middle of the conflict air their opinions internationally. Don't look now, folks, but the world has shrunk even more.
